More Chicago Christmas -- Macy's

Christmas in the City: Macy's clock, store front, decorated window (The Nutcracker) and Salvation Army musicians. (Sacrilege! These are really Marshall Field's pictures and always will be!) Added Note: For those of you who have commented, this store used to be Marshall Fields, a Chicago icon, but it was bought recently by Macy's. It is just not the same now.

Great photos today. Was Macy's at one time Marshall Fields? I used to live in the Windy City and associate the clock with Fields. I don't think there was a Macy's when I lived there.

Love the buzz of your photos.

I look forward to visiting your blog more often this 2008. And you're welcome to mine, too! For some reason, my link was not included in the participating blogs for the 1st of January 2008 theme day. Sorry I wasn't able to visit your blog sooner. I was in transit the whole of yesterday. I am now back in Norwich after the most fantabulous time at home in Manila.

Happy New Year to you and everyone you hold dear!

Thanks Everyone & Happy New Year to you too! Chicago is terrific. Millenium Park, the Art Institute, shopping Michigan Avenue, take an architectural river cruise, walk along the beach, go up to the top of John Hancock or Sears Tower -- all highlights for me. Macy's was Marshall Fields. It will always be Marshall Fields to me, though!
