Doesn't this look like a festival? More Chicago from the water (Lake Michigan) pictures to follow. . . .

The "Lock" office -- Chicago River

Isn't this a space-age looking building? Here is where officials work to monitor the boats coming in and out of Chicago Harbor as they pass through the locks.

Sears Tower, Chicago

Let's go back to Chicago for a couple of days. It's nice to have the country life at home and the city close by for culture, etc. Here is the world famous Sears Tower, shining brightly on a clear, sunny day.

Illinois Institute of Technology

This is familiar to you if you've ever driven into Chicago on the Dan Ryan expressway. The Illinois Institute of Technology is located across from Comiskey Park -- oops I mean US Cellular Field -- home of the Chicago White Sox baseball team.

Soda from Latvia -- actually Ukraine

A friend brought this back from Latvia -- we haven't tried it yet, but apparently it is like root beer, tasting more like non-alcoholic beer. Should be interesting.

9-11 tribute flag, Nunda Fire Department

Flag of Heroes on the Nunda Fire Department truck: "This flag contains the names of the emergency services personnel who gave their lives to save others in the terrorist attacks of 9-11. Now and forever it will represent their immortality. We shall never forget them."

A truly authentic Nunda farm

This is a neighbor of mine. Note the corn, very famous in Illinois! I pass by this farm everyday. I tried to take a picture of the cows but there is a new calf and the big cows were very intimidating, trying to scare me off, especially the bull.

Joan Miro's "Chicago" sculpture

This is located pretty much directly across from the previous post, the Picasso sculpture, in downtown Chicago.

The Chicago Picasso

This is the "Chicago Picasso" sculpture. Looks like a baboon??

Here's a nice typical "Daily Photo" -- a statue! Hans Christian Andersen, located in Chicago's Lincoln Park, by the zoo.

Clouds Over Nunda

This was taken before sunrise . . . I'm not usually awake that early but it was worth it today. Fall is coming around here, the colors of the sky are becoming more dramatic.
