Making R's out of P's

I'm not a big fan of this place although lots of people love it. I don't really like their hamburgers, which is their big item. But I confess I like the frozen custard -- raspberry sundae is the best! I liked the way they tried to make R's out of P's on this sign.

A little bit bigger . . .

I wonder how many of the last post could fit inside this one? How much does anyone really need? These 2 houses are only a few blocks away from each other, in the same town.

Lake House

This little cutie is in a nearby town. . . right on the lake. I think I would be happy living in this little house. My house isn't much bigger!

River House

This old stone house is a few blocks from where I live, next to the Fox River. It is nice to see all of the ice is gone and people can actually start to think about boating again.

Sharp-shinned Hawk

This magnificent hawk was in a tree by my house yesterday when we went for a walk. Glad I had my camera! The first two pictures are mine, the one below is a stock photo so you can see his true colors. He had a small bird in his talons which you cannot see. He is known as the "bird hawk" since that is what his diet consists of. Note in the picture below, he is on a bird feeder -- they like to hang around bird feeders, to feed on birds, not seeds. I see many Red-tailed Hawks around, but I have never seen this type of bird and felt I had to share, even though my photos aren't that great.

A Controlled Burn . . .

While driving, saw this big cloud of smoke in the sky behind my house and rushed home to check -- the conservation district was doing a controlled burn on the field! I couldn't get close enough to take good pictures . . . .lots of deer were running through the neighborhood. And that night, the coyotes were howling like crazy.
